Instant Classic4
The smooth seventies vibe of the production compliments his complex wordplay perfectly. You can’t go wrong when you emphasise the artistic aspect instead of the commercial angles in hip hop.

(4.5) Album of the year!!!!!!!!!!!4
After returning with Kingdom Come last year, Jay-Z is back with American Gangster – his first conceptual album. Many people doubted Jigga but he proved once again why he’s one of the greatest mc’s off all-time and a future hall of famer.

The album is a banger from start to finish with one exception: Hello Brooklyn. The only problem with the song is the presence of wack azz Lil Wayne on it…the beat is kinda strange in the beggining but it grows after a few spins, Jay’s flow is sickness, his rhymes r on point but wack azz Lil Wayne totally ruined the song with that wack azz chorus…I mean he lives in New Orleans what the hell he knows ’bout Brooklyn? Jay made a big mistake on this one.

Beside this, the rest of the album is spectacular. The production is brilliant, I gotta admit I was skeptical when I read than Diddy was producing the majority of the songs but Thank God he didn’t make it by himself…No ID, Neptunes, JD all of them did a exceptional job on it.

So the result is nothing less than album of the year for Jigga…too many people praising that disapointed Kanye West’s “Graduation” didn’t realise that Jay took it this year.

Go buy it!!Don’t waste your time!!!

HOT, HOT, ON FIRE!!!5
The man, the mogul, the brand Jay-Z is as refreshing as ice cold water on a HOT day. In the sea of garbage “party” rap, Jay-Z shines. His progression and artistic creativity are very apparent on this album and the collabos are wonderfully unexpected. He will always be #1 in my book.
